BEIJING: China mentioned on Tuesday (Dec 17) that it’s prepared to work with India to stabilize bilateral relations “in an expeditious method” forward of uncommon high-level talks this week over a decades-old border dispute.
The world’s two most populous nations are robust geopolitical rivals and accuse one another of making an attempt to grab territory alongside their unofficial divide, often known as the Line of Actual Control.
Their shared 3,500 km border has been a perennial supply of stress between the nuclear-armed neighbors.
This week’s talks on the problem could be the primary in 5 years, signaling a doable thaw in relations.
A Foreign Ministry spokesperson in Beijing mentioned China was prepared to “work with India to implement the essential consensus reached by the leaders of the 2 nations.”
Beijing will search to “strengthen mutual belief via dialogue and communication, correctly handle variations with sincerity and good religion, and return bilateral relations to a secure and wholesome growth path in a short while,” spokesman Lin Jian mentioned.
