SEOUL: South Korean investigators on Saturday (Jan 4) once more requested the nation’s performing president to order the Presidential Security Service to adjust to an arrest warrant for impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol.
The safety service, together with navy troops, prevented prosecutors from arresting Yoon Suk Yeol in a six-hour standoff inside Yoon’s compound on Friday. Investigators obtained the arrest warrant for Yoon for his temporary declaration of martial regulation final month.
The Corruption Investigation Bureau for High-Ranking Officials mentioned Saturday it had once more requested performing President Choi Sang-mok, the nation’s finance minister, to order the Presidential Security Service to cooperate with the warrant.

Yoon’s martial declaration on December 3 shocked South Korea and led to the issuance of the primary arrest warrant for a sitting president.
