Chinese vacationer killed in collision with jet ski in Thailand

BEIJING: A Chinese vacationer was killed and one other injured after their jet skis collided off the coast of the Thai island of Phuket on Tuesday (Jan 14), Chinese state broadcaster CCTV reported, citing the embassy Chinese in Thailand.

The explanation for the accident is being investigated, CCTV reported.

This is the second incident involving Chinese vacationers close to Phuket in simply two days.

Thailand is a well-liked vacation spot for Chinese vacationers to journey through the upcoming Lunar New Year vacation.

On Monday, a catamaran carrying 33 Chinese folks and 5 crew members capsized off the coast of Koh Racha island north of Phuket, CCTV reported.

All folks on board had been rescued with out casualties, the report mentioned.

Last 12 months, Chinese vacationers accounted for the biggest group of holiday makers to Thailand, with 6.7 million visits to the Southeast Asian nation.
