Dodgers celebrity Shohei Ohtani injured his left arm in the course of the seventh inning of Game 2 of Saturday’s World Series towards the New York Yankees when he tried to steal second base. The severity of the harm was not instantly clear.
Ohtani clutched his left forearm after being touched by shortstop Anthony Volpe for the ultimate out within the inning on a slide to toes first. He lay close to the bag for a few minutes earlier than being handled by trainers and leaving the sector.
Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reported from the Dodgers dugout that the problem was with Ohtani’s left shoulder.
