Braden Smith of Purdue has been appointed Big Ten Player of the Year and Tom Izzo Coach of the Year of the Michigan State by the coaches and media within the vote coordinated by the convention. Smith and Izzo received the identical honors because the Associated Press Tuesday.
For Izzo, who turned the primary of the ten Big Ten coaches in all instances wins at the start of this 12 months, is his fourth time he claims the prize.
Smith’s honor marks the third consecutive 12 months wherein a Purdue participant received the prize.
The coaches voted for Penn State Baldwin Jr. The defensive participant of the 12 months, Queen Derik of Maryland the Freshman of the Year and the Illinois Will Riley the sixth man of the 12 months.
The first All-Big Ten workforce of the coaches was made up of Smith, Queen, Brice Williams of Nebraska, Trey Kaufman-Renn of Purdue and John Tonje of Wisconsin. The second workforce of the coaches included Vladislav Goldin of Michigan and Danny Wolf, Dawson Garcia del Minnesota, Nick Martinelli of the North -ovest and Bruce Thornton of the State of Ohio.
The first media workforce included Goldin, Williams, Kaufman-Renn, Smith and Tonje. The second workforce was composed of Queen, Wolf, Garcia, Martinelli and Thornton.
