A fan at Yankee Stadium was ejected from Game 4 of the World Series after ripping a foul ball out of the glove of Los Angeles Dodgers proper fielder Mookie Betts on Tuesday night time.
Betts jumped the wall in foul territory and initially caught Gleyber Torres’ pop-up within the first inning, however a fan within the entrance row in a grey Yankees highway jersey grabbed Betts’ glove with each palms and kicked the ball out. Torres was instantly reprimanded for fan interference.
It was the second time Torres had an at-bat affected by fan interference on this World Series. With two outs within the ninth inning of Game 1 at Dodger Stadium, Torres hit a fly ball to left area and a fan reached out and caught the ball. Double for Torres.
The Dodgers, one win away from their second title in 5 years, led 2-0 Freddie Freeman’s double homer Luis Gil in first place.
